Do I really need a website if I already have a Facebook page?
Short answer: keep the Facebook page, but do not let it be your only address.
Most kedai, salons and contractors we speak to started on Facebook or Instagram, and that makes sense. It is free, fast and your customers are already there. The trouble starts when the page is the only place your business exists.
You are renting, not owning
Your page lives on someone else's platform. The layout, the reach and the rules can change without asking you. A website on your own domain stays yours, even if you change hosting company one day.
People search before they scroll
When someone nearby types "kedai kopi near me" or "tuition centre Cheras", Google is looking for a page it can read: your services, your opening hours, your location on a map. A social post from three months ago is hard to find and harder to trust.
A website answers the boring questions for you
Opening hours, price range, how to get there, how to order. Put those in one place and you stop repeating them in every DM, and the customer who is ready to buy can tap straight to WhatsApp.
So what should you do?
- Keep posting on social. It is where people discover you.
- Put one link in your bio that goes to your website.
- Make sure the website has a WhatsApp button, so the step from "interested" to "chatting with you" is a single tap.
